On 4 October, a trip departs from Novi Sad to Deliblatska peščara, Vršac and Gudurica. The grape festival has ended and the wine has not yet been tasted, but the weather promises an Indian summer. Summer is soon over, yet there is still a chance to have breakfast on the grass and enjoy the warmth and sun — the forecast is +24C. The Deliblat hills have turned golden with autumn colors, the air is clean and clear, and winemakers are in their busiest time, processing the new harvest and freeing warehouses from previous years' stocks. The program includes breakfast on the grass in Deliblatska peščara, a walk through the city, a climb to the fortress with views of the Banat plains all the way to Romania, and sunset at the Catholic chapel of the Holy Cross. This time a tasting of local wine is added: the sandy soil and cool nights give a completely different style, distinct from Fruška Gora, even in the favorite varieties Grašac and Sauvignon Blanc, and some winemakers have the courage to make excellent reds.
